So Far So Good

I asked in my previous post “Where is the heart” and it looks like they have found it. It is now the second intermission of tonights game against the Calgary Flames and the Vancouver Canucks are up 5-2.

Leading the way in Captain Canuck fashion is Trevor Linden with 2 goals on the night and a period of hockey to play. Regardless of how many skeptic fans that are out there spouting their delusional opinions of Linden about how he is “too old” or that he is “past his prime” he has once again shown why he is so important to this team. Not only does he display the great leadership, but he is also still a clutch performer. As fans we should hope that we see him in the lineup for the remainder of the season and whatever playoff stretch the team is able to muster up.

Lets not forget about the Canucks captain. Naslund has shown great jump in his game and loads of determination. One great example of that determination was his goal at the end of the first period that tied the game up at 2 a piece. If he would have shown this desire and determination all year long I dont think he would have received half the bashing that he has this season. He is still a great player with a lot of hockey left in him to play, he just might not be the 40 goal scorer that fans are expecting.

Tonights game, win or lose is the effort I was asking for in my previous post. The team as a whole has shown heart. They all look to be on the same page and are determined to play to play the best game that they can.

On a side note, lets not forget about Matt Pettinger. That was a pretty goal that showed off his great hands, one of the reason Nonis traded for him.

The Canucks have just scored again while I was typing this. Brad Isbister just scored making it a 6-2 lead. Thats what Im talkin about baby!!
