It looks like Matt Pettinger will be suiting up to play his first game as a Canuck against the Avalanche tonight at GM place in Vancouver. According to sources he will be playing on aline with Kesler and Burrows, so he is literally taking Matt Cookes spot on the team.

Im looking forward to seeing this new kid in action. I have watched Matt Cooke miss on many good scoring chances being setup by Burrows and Kesler this year, heres to hoping Pettinger will be a little better and finish on some of those scoring chances. Im expecting a great game from the kid as he will be playing his first game at home, in BC, where he grew up. Look for lots of energy and desire from Matt Pettinger.

On another note, Im looking forward to maybe seeing Forsberg tonight back in an Avalanche uniform. I have not heard yet if he will be playing, he should, his new team needs him but who knows. In a phone interview after being signed by Colorado he didnt sound very motivated to get into games anytime soon. I guess we will just have to wait and see.
