Hurricanes captain suffered a torn ACL during Thursday’s game; will miss 4-6 months
RALEIGH, NC— Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that center Rod Brind’Amour will have reconstructive knee surgery after suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee during the first period of Thursday night’s game against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Dr. Marty Isbell will perform the procedure on Friday at Rex Hospital, and Brind’Amour is expected to be out of action for four to six months.
